Mark started his legal career in Jefferson County in 1996 as an Assistant Public Defender in Hillsboro, Missouri. Mark then worked for Robert (Bob) McCulloch as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office from 1997 to 2007. During that time, Mark was lead counsel in numerous jury trials for cases ranging from misdemeanors to murder in the first degree. He also prosecuted white collar crimes and numerous vehicular homicide cases.
In February 2007, he became a trial attorney with the firm in Hillsboro. During his tenure with the firm, Mark has represented individuals, corporations and public agencies. He has handled cases involving personal injury, estate planning, contracts, general litigation, workers’ compensation, family law, adoptions and criminal defense/traffic matters. During his career he has been lead counsel in over sixty jury trials in Jefferson, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Washington, Franklin and St. Louis Counties with much success. Mark also serves as the City Attorney for the cities of Ste. Genevieve, Leadington and DeSoto and serves as the Prosecuting Attorney for the cities of DeSoto and Herculaneum.
Community service has always been important to Mark. Mark is a proud member of Backstoppers, the Elks and the Knights of Columbus and serves on the Lancer Endowment at St. Pius (L.E.A.P.) Board. Mark served as President of the Festus-Crystal City Kiwanis Club and President of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. He was twice elected to the Windsor School Board and served on the Jefferson County Library Board of Directors, the Jefferson County YMCA Board of Advisors, the Festus Library Board, the Twin City Chamber of Commerce Board and the Parish Council of Our Lady’s Parish in Festus.
Mark and his wife, Rebecca, live in Festus with their four sons.
